Rancho Penasquitos Skatepark Update

I am the Rancho Penasquitos Skatepark consultant. I'm just someone who is taking their personal time to try and influence for a better built park. I do it volunteer and have been on site nearly every day. I'm including several of my pictures for you and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. I'm sure there are many. The park is slated to complete the begining of march if all goes well.

What's the latest? Do you know when it's scheduled to open? I work in Sorrento Valley so this will be the closest park to my work.

Any bowls? Any new pics?

Even though I'm not much for street skating it will be great to have a park close by.

The PQ park is scheduled to open Sat. April 23rd at 11am.

I drove by to take a closer look and it appears that they're going to be closing off a section of Rancho Penasquitos Rd. in preparation for the large crowd this weekend.

Sort of sounds like a Demo-setup. I figure go check out some good skating and snap photos. If too hectic, then cruise on over to Poway.

If you could get me some new photos of the park and some more info on the grand opening I will post it up tonight. If anyone could lend a hand to helping me gather the details, directions, location, and all of the info that I gather about skateparks (just look at any skatepark on the site and you can see what I add for each skatepark) I would appreciate it. just shoot me an email with the stuff at webmaster@socalskateparks.com

Directions to RP skatepark.

5 South, exit 56 east, exit rancho PQ blvd, go under the 56 bridge, make a right at the first light. Its in the Stater Brothers strip mall area, right next to 24hr fitness.

This park is always crowded with street skaters. So even though it's not really what I'd look for in a skatepark, Willy Santos seems to be in touch with the pulse of the skating youth.

Thanks for posting that. I still need to add the RP park. I work close to there now so I will stop by on the way home from work one night.

Congrats on the new job! I work 10 mins from there too. In Sorrento Valley at the tech center. Where are you working?
