Would you recommend the skatepark? Yes
| Rating: 4
Downey is one of the few public skateparks in the L.A. area that offers lights till 10pm and no fee. Plenty of street obstacles and decent flow throughout the entire skatepark. The capsule shaped bowl 'crete finish is a tad rough but skateable. Sadly, it's only 6' of depth and steel coping. Don't go out of your way to skate the place, unless you're in the area. Bikes sometimes get in and destroy the place, as to be expected. But they're easily thwarted. Cops roll by and kick 'em out. Opened in November of 2002.

If you're havin' fun skateboarding... you're doin' it right.
