Closing ceremonies went off, including jeweled Money Cups, giant checks, and Nixon watches for the winners. Joe, Gavin, and George Maloof, along with their partners and sponsors, were there to pop bottles of champagne and celebrate the inaugural year of the biggest skateboarding event ever!

By noon on Tuesday, July 15th, 2008, the vert ramp will have to be removed. Even more challenging... the California Skateparks built street course will have to be demolished, too. In a very short span of time, the dirt Speedway track will be returned to it's prior condition before this event came to town. Amazing! Hopefully, the ramp will find it's way to a good home to be enjoyed again. Towards the end of the weekend, I was asking the skaters their thoughts on it. Most of them seemed to like it.

The Maloof Money Cup will air on CBS, Sunday, July 20, 2008 at noon PST. So Cal Skateparks was also present to capture a lot of the event on video. Stay tuned to this site for a video, soon. Thanks to the Maloof family, Joe and his crew at California Skateparks, and all of the sponsors that made this huge event a success.
